HI all, okay I was browsing the web and came across dog breed gifts. And they had this pic
UMMMMM does that not look JUST like Harley????And I looked up Rat Terriers and they ALL look just like Harley, the color and everything! I am wondering if he is even a little bit of Chi now! What do you think?
Hmmm, couriouser and couriouser! It does look lot like Harley, and given his size and the fact that you dont know his parantage I'd say it's highly likely he's not full Chihuahua, if any at all. But I'm not sure. No doubt others will chip in soon with their opinion!
I am not sure you will ever know for sure... but as far as I am concerned, he is still part of the family, and he is chi to me!!! Be it part chi, even if it is 10%, that will work for me!!!
I second what Sattie said, of course! You and Harley will always be part of the family! In my opinion, Harley definitely has some other breed in his bloodlines, I dont know how far back or how much, but due to his size and head shape it seems definite to me his ancestors aren't 100% Chi.
The rat terriers face is a different shape as well as the ears, and they have a larger body, differnt build more like a jack. How big is harley? maybe a bit, but Harley looks chi to me.

Hrm!! Did you get him from a breeder or a pet store? I know some people who have gotten some things from both breeders and stores that were not what they were supposed to be! A friend of mine bought a puggle from a pet store at a really REALLY outragous price, and that puggle is now 80 lbs and looks EXACTLY like an American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull Terrier).... depending upon where you got him from, someone may have lied to you. He may be a mix between and rat and a chi.... woah.... LOL.
I got him from the paper, An old lady. Either she lied (she said he'd be no mroe then 5 lbs) or she just didn't know. He was TINY when I got him. 1.4 lbs.
LOL... it was like that with my mom's mini dachsund... he's registered with the ACA so he supposedly purebred, and he looks like the perfect dachsund and he was the tiniest puppy on the planet... and now he's 16lbs and not fat!!
