I just picked up Chimi's papers today!! I believe that the puppy mill he was throw out of may have purchased him for breeding later on... because his papers have the breeder's name and the sire and dam's name included. The papers are only ACA, but I'm just glad I've gotten something for him! And ACA is'nt bad... it's just not as good as AKC, I guess.
I am currently looking up the breeder to get in touch with her about him, so that I can learn some more about his family history, and where exactly he comes from. I want to know about health records and all that, so that perhaps he will be offered for stud to another ACA female in our area. I would also like to attend some shows or trials for ACA in the area to see what I can get him into.

ACA is not as good as AKC or anything like that... it's sort of like a step down. It is the largest veterinary health tracking purebred canine registry though. Their dogs generally do not fit the perfect standard, but tend to come close... but in some cases... not even close at all. Chimi is pretty close to the AKC standard, so I think he's alright considering from where he came from. But the ACA has shows and trials and all that, similar to the AKC... Chimi's even got one of those fancy smancy full names that I've had picked out for him for a while... incase I got a hold of those papers... It reads as: Miora Chimichanga El Abogado de Diablo
And it translates from Spanish into: Miora's Chimichanga, The Devil's Advocate
A while ago I looked up the phrase "The Devil's Advocate" and got the definition of someone who argues just for the sake of arguing. This seems to fit Chimi perfectly. He fights for bones and treats from other dogs, even though he doesnt even want them! (He wins them, and then just leaves them there, and when they come back to get them later - he defends it with all of his might!) And then every single time I tell him 'no' and point a finger at him (or correct him in any other manner) he snaps and yips at me before he turns around to walk away. And he's grumbling this wierd growling yappy noise the entire time he's walking away, and then he'll lay there and stare at me while grumbling some more. He definitely argues and fights just for the sake of it. LOL. Bless his heart, I think it's hilarious! And the 'Miora' part comes from my full name... Miora. I dont know if I will breed him yet at all... but Ellie will always be Chimi's one and only true love!!
Update: I got a hold of Chimi's actual breeder and spoke to her for hours on the phone last night. She has been outraged because Chimi and his mother were purchased together by an Amish girl here who said she only wanted them for pets. The mother had been available, and Chimi was the last pup and runt of the litter, so the breeder let the girl take the two for a combined price. The girl that took them worked for that puppy mill that Chimi had come from, and now I believe that Chimi had been purchased to be a breeder. God only knows what happened to his mother ... the breeder still has his father though!
I can understand why she would be so angry... she had totally been decieved!
My goodness, I can certainly see why the breeder of Chimi was so upset! That would be a truely awful thing to discover happened to your babies! I'm reassured that it was not just Chimi that she sold though, as I was thinking about your situation last night and was wondering why any breeder would sell a 6 week old, or less even, pup! But that makes sense now, if he was with his mother. So when're you gunna go meet the rest of his family? I'd be sooo keen to hear what happens and what they're all like!
Thanks for the info on the ACA, I checked out their website. It looks like it's a kind of insurance crossed with an extensive Veterinary check, is that right? Looks like a very useful thing to have! I wouldn't ever be uninsured with Ellie, it's just too much of an expensive risk! Vet's are sooo expensive, aren't they?!
Ellie's KC full name is Chersya Ellie-May, but her full name to me is Ellie-May Lorraine Sanders. Lorraine was the name of my Grandmother who left me the money to pay for Ellie, and Sanders is my surname. The breeder chose the name Ellie from a list of names I liked that I gave her; Eleanor is also the breeder's name so that's a kinda nice tribute.
I cant wait to hear all about Chimi's family, and I cant tell you how high Ellie jumped with pleasure when she heard Chimi still loves her! "Phew!" she said to me!

The breeder had just been thrilled over the fact that Chimi is the most spoiled Chihuahua in the state of Pennsylvania at the moment. LOL. A visit is in order with his breeder in a few weeks, and she is so excited about meeting him again, and letting him play with his family and all. That should be a trip... I will have to get pictures of that for sure!!
Mia I am so glad you have talked to Chimi's breeder and are making plans to visit. I know she will feel alot better when she sees what a wonderful job you have done with him.
