Chimi was BLEEDING!!!!

Well I was sitting here on the couch, typing up an email, and my mom's mastiff (Kippy) snipped at Chimi. It's a usual thing, and he never gets him or anything he just does it because Chimi always sits by his butt, and Kippy hates things near his butt. So he always snips and growls abit, then he jumps up and usually runs away from Chimi. Some big mastiff, huh?

Well this morning this happened, and I guess Kippy actually DID get Chimi. I got mad because when Kippy snapped it sounded a little more aggressive than usual. So I disciplined him and made him go into his crate. Chimi was not afraid or acting any differently, but he was jumping to try and get onto the couch. I picked him up and held him for about 2 or 3 minutes before I noticed blood on my hands. Then all over Chimi's sweater.... then on Chimi's fur!! I started crying, trying to figure out where it was coming from, and I even had to take time to chill out and calm down for a second. Me freaking out didnt seem to be helping anything, and I couldnt tell where the blood was coming from. Chimi was acting more playful than hurt, so I was also wondering if it was from one of the other dogs... but I found that it was coming from the tip of Chimi's right ear. I was afraid that Kippy may have bitten the tip of the ear off, but it's still there! It's just a little scrape that was bleeding alot. Thank god.

I never thought I could freak out so bad in my entire life. But Chimi is fine and all cleaned up, and Kippy is still sitting in his crate... in a world of trouble. He knows it too. And my mom wonders why I want to get my own place? Jeez.

Yeah... I really wish that he were afraid of things!!! Jeez... I mean, I'm glad he's not afraid of anything, but he's totally pushing it here. He just gambles with his life left and right...

Oh Mia, my heart was in my throat as I read that!  Thank heavens Chimi wasn't badly hurt!  I can completely sympathise with your panick, I've been in a similar position in the past.  Hugs to you both sweetie!

It's amazing how those little cuts bleed and bleed!  Is it ok now?  Cant have our little Chimi in pain!  How is he?

Mia! Chimi has quite the few weeks hasn't he? I am so happy that it was just a lil scratch on the tip of his ear. The ears are such a vascular area. Give him a hug and a kiss from us up here!

Awwwwwww, Chimi says "Thanks for caring, guys!!"

He's doing great... for a while he would act like his ear hurt, but then jump out of my lap tearing after the cat every time he spotted him... so I know he's doing just fine.

Today he's been running about all happy and crazy, like his usual self!! He's such a little faker sometimes... but I know his ear had to be sore at one point in time. But all in all, he's all good now! LOL.

Whew girl..I was reading that and got all upset until I got to the part where I found it was just his wee ear.  I'm glad it wasn't anything serious like a large bite or something.  Sometimes I worry about that with Zip and Chuwee playing together.  They get a bit carried away and growling and baring their teeth at each other.  You would swear that they were going to really do damage to each other.  Glad that little Chimi is ok, and he will be fine:)  I can imagine how scared you were.

Oh Newf... Chimi does that with our Chinese Crested too... and the crested is large for his size (about 20lbs, and not fat!) so I always worry about Chimi... he also plays with this mastiff all of the time... so I'm use to worrying about it, but Kippy has never actually givin Chimi a warning snap until now.

Ear Update: Chimi's ear now has this ucky black type of scab on the end and side. It's really tiny, and I suspect it will roll off with time. He's doing great though, and he and Kippy have totally kissed and made up. I just have to monitor the two a little harder when they are interacting, and when Chimi is on the floor at my mom's house.

Poor Baby! Mia, please be careful. Our little guys can get hurt so easily. Everything is tiny on them, especially the bones. I'm so happy this was just a scratch and nothing more..

Chimi Ear Update!! =

Well, I had a feeling that there would be the tiniest of chunks out of the spot on his ear where he had been bitten.... and there is a little spot missing. It's hardly noticable... but I know where it is, so I see it all the time. LOL. Chimi and his uncle Kippy are doing great together, and there have been no more snippings on Kippy's side at all... it's CHIMI who does all of the snipping and warning now!! And poor giant kippy just stares at him and walks away.... his pride hurting and all. LOL. Kippy has also gotten a lot better about being gentle with Chimi... so they are getting along great!
