Cold Paws!

Hi girls!

Ok, so I have a question for y'all.  Do any of you have boots/shoes for your Chis?  If so, how do they like them?  Did it take a long time to get used to them?  And would you recommend them?

It's getting so darned cold here, it's -2 at night now.  Whenever I take ELlie out I put two layers on her just to keep her from not freezing!  But her paws always come back like little blocks of ice!  x

Bless her heart Jess.... I have never used booties, but it sounds like it may be worth the effort if it is that cold there.  Either that, or she needs to hurry her little butt up and get her business done!!!!  Let us know what you decide and how it works out for our Miss Ellie!

We did get some adorable little boots for Rufus - but haven't tried them on him yet. I doubt he'll wear them.

Thank God we have litter trained him, so he doesn't have to go out in the cold. We're not as cold as you yet, Jess - but I'm sure we'll get there!

Blessings - Lin

Well, we were thinking of getting Radar some booties for the snow. But, we tried on a pair in PetsMart, and he acted like they were trying to eat him or something. So, we just figured there wouldnt be a point, if he wouldnt wear them.

But, for Ellie, I think I would atleast try the booties. If it gets that cold, I think she may need them.

I have booties for biscuit, As you can see in the video i posted he doesnt mind them that much, just walk a little funny at first. AS long as you get them on tight enough that they are not slipping I would recomend them. Also get the ones that have a plastic bottom, so they wet doesnt seep through. they make some that are just fuzzy and I dont think that would help, because all the snow will just come in them when they get wet.

Good Luck!

Thanks guys, your comments were great!  I think I will get some and try them for her.  It would be wonderful if I could find something to help.  Her tiny paws get sooo cold!  There's no snow yet, but we will have some at some point I'd imagine.  Our British Winters (spring, summer, autumn...) are always very wet, a lot of rain!

-2!! GEEZ! Is it snowing?! I wish it would snow here in TN but it never does very much. No boots here but I would get some if it were that cold! She might not like them while in the house but if you put them on her and then took her out in the cold she might like them.

It seems to have got a little warmer over the last week; now about 5 degrees centigrade, but I think it is going to be a harsh winter, I saw Holly berries on the bushes in september!

James and I have decided to get Ellie these boots for Christmas.  What d'you guys think of 'em?

Those boots are so cute!!! I know Ellie will be absolutely adorable in them!!

That site that you posted has little flaming converse for Chimi! I'm going to order them next week! I have the same exact converse, and we will have matching shoes now too! LOL.

Well, I haven't yet ordered any for Ellie either!    It's getting quite bitter here now, so I think I'd better hurry my butt up and get them!  lol

I was thinking the same thing, Jess. LOL. Chimi refuses to go outside here... and if he does, he stands there with one paw drawn up to his chest, shivering from head to toe! And when he walks, he will walk on three legs and hop about whimpering... poor thing! It's soooo pathetic looking!
