Hi everyone. Yesterday it rained here in Tennessee all day. I left work and got gas off of Alcoa highway (big, scarry, busy highway). When I was done pumpin gas there was an suv in front of me and he was inching his way out about to merge onto the highway. he started going and I thought he left so I was inching my way to go next and wasn't looking and CRASH I ran into him!!! I guess he started going and decided to wait or something. But I hit his trailor hitch so there is a hole in my front bumper,no damage to his so we didn't call any cops. He was such a nice old man. I have never been in a wreck before and it is my WORST fear EVER!!!! I have bumped someone another time I was about to pull out and I was to far out and a car was coming so I reversed not even looking if there was someone behind me and SLAMMED into them sooooo hard, no damage to their car but there was to mine, my heart literally stopped and I was shaking. Now I am inching my way closer and closer to a real wreck and I know most people have at least 1 in their whole life but I am SOOOO SCARED that I will be alone in the car or something, I will go in shock I think. Evan got in a BAD wreck before we started dating, he rolled like 3 times and landed upside down,he was fine though but if the roof would've come down like an inch more he would've been dead.So scarry! There is still a bare patch of grass where it happened almost 5 years ago.OKAY BUT I am fine, I was just a little shooken up!
Jenn, I'm glad you're okay. Every accident, whether big or small, is scary! I was rear-ended about six months ago, and I still am constantly looking behind me in case someone is following too close! I bet you'll be rather paranoid about who's pulling out in front of you for a bit.
Yes, we take a risk driving our cars - but what else can we do? Can't get anywhere without them, can we?
Take a deep breath, sweetie, and just thank God you weren't hurt!
Yea, accidents are never any fun... I have had several in my life, most of them just little bumper type accidents. The worst one I had was when I was going through a green light and this guy in a truck pulled out of a store and hit me, very bad wreck, ended up taking a trip to the hospital in an ambulance. All you can do is be careful, alert, and responsible, which sounds like you were doing all 3. Stuff happens and it is not really your fault. Glad you are ok!
I feel the same way you do jenn, I have been hit once on the passenger side, not very hard at all, but I was so scared I couldnt move, I just sat in the middle of the road shaking! car crashes are sooo scary, Im sure yo will be fine, Just be careful and always pay attention and you will be fine. Im glaad your ok this time as well and it was just a little bump.
I'm glad that everything is okay... even small accidents can be so scary. I was in my first accident a couple of months after I got my license when I was 16... a man ran a red light and hit my car by my highschool. He didn't do much damage to my car, and no one was hurt, but it was still really scary.
One of my friends died in last year in a rollover... you just have to be so careful driving.
We know how you feel...we bought our Colorado during July of 2005, while we were in Flagstaff, AZ...we got T-boned leaving Walmart in October! It dont close to 9000 dollars damage to our NEW truck, and only busted out a headlight on the Dodge Ram that hit us. We were taken to the ER, I ended up with a knot the size of an egg on my head for about 2 weeks. The hit was on my side of the truck. When we went home for Christmas, we had to have almost the whole rightside of our truck replaced!!! It was so horrible. Accidents are one of the scariest things ever!
Wow, Jenn, I am very glad all is ok. It's true, minor or not, a wreck is scary. I had one about a year and a half ago, fairly minor, but came close to being bad. I was very shook up. That's the only accident I've been in. Luckily, it was not my fault and I was paid for the damage to my van. Again, I'm glad you are ok and no major harm was done.
Jen, I am sorry to hear you had an accident, it must've been horrible for you! I've never been in one (touch wood!), but can imagine how nasty it must be. Thank heavens you and the other driver were ok, we'd be lost without you sweetie! x
Yeah one of my friends died in August in a car wreck on her way to the beach. They cops said the wreck looked more like a plane crash than a car crash, they were driving a tahoe and they couldn't even tell what kind of car it was.
I'm glad to hear you're ok! It is a scary thing for sure. I was in a car that went off the road into a deep side ditch. It still gives me da willies when I think of it.
