Does anyone else find themselves fascinated with their chi's ears? I can't keep my hands off of Rufus' perky little ears. Especially that really soft spot right behind them, where they meet the back of the head. Since he's long-coated, he's developing adorable fringe on his ears, and I just think they are adorable!
Am I just weird? (wouldn't be the first time!) Or is this a chi mom thing?
You know Lin, I seem to be fascinate with everything about them, their little paws, the hair that grows between their toes, their nose, eyes, and YES their ears! Boots has soft and thick ears, kinda like suede. And of course the stance that they have on his head is priceless. Binks, has tiny soft delicate ears. I like how expressive his ears are... when he is tired and loafing around, his ears sag down. When he is happy and excited, they prick up. I can watch my kids for hours!!!!
Sattie said it well, I too am obsessed with everything about Ellie! Now that you say it though Lin, I do kinda love her ears! They're sooo expressive, always up and down depending on what she's feeling! Too sweet! I can imagine longcoat Chi's ears might be the best to touch as they have long, feathery, super soft ear fringes. I can just imagine how gorgeous they feel between the ears.
When I am occupied with something else, like tv or telephone, I find myself always rubbing the dogs' ears. Zip has the long fur on her ears that is so soft, and her ear tip remind me of velvet. She loves it when I just rub her like that. Chuwee's ears are the same. I love the soft spot behind his ears too. Something about dog ears that is just relaxing.:)
Ears - you can tell a lot about what they are feeling with their ears! Sparky moves his around like antenae when you talk to him. It's like he's making sure he hears everything that I'm saying to him and at certain words they perk up more! Both Sparky and Tucker have very erect ears and they don't seem to ever really go down. They'll kind of pull them back sometimes but not down. Tucker is a long coat so at almost 5 months he has this amazing fluff thing going on! He looks like a little Gizmo or something. I call him a little punk rocker! I love to play with them while he sits on my lap. He seems to enjoy it too! His coat is so soft and silky! He is very patient with me and he'll let me touch him anywhere I want to - and I do regularly just to keep him calm about being touched. I even play with the hair between his toes. I have the breeder to thank for the touching thing - she is very involved with the puppies and it has made life a lot easier for me. Yep, love Chi ears!!
Oh Houdini's are sooo soft too - I can't help but play with them. At first, he didn't care much for it, but now, he knows it's just part of me loving on him :)
I'm always grabbing and playing with Chimi's ears! LOL. He doesnt seem to mind, so more power to me!!
As he looses his baby coat, he's getting some fringe on his neck and underneath of his ears, just where they connect to his little apple head... I love to play with that specifically... it's so soft!!!
