My Japanese Garden

This is my pride and joy in my yard. I love to turn on the fountain and just relax in my gazebo.

Well Linda, I am a very unflattering shade of "envy" green!!!  lol That garden has to be one of the prettiest places I have ever seen...Do you handle all the planting and upkeep by yourself? I mean I've seen photos and your entire yard is absolutely beautiful.  I fell in love with your bird of paradise... My fav flower....I can see why the Japanese garden is your pride and joy, what a place to just sit and meditate..Deb

Thank you so much, Ladies. My DH and a friend put this garden together for me and I do the up keep which is a pleasure. We sit in the gazebo every evening and have coffee and talk story. The little house in the back is a tool shed. No Paka has never gone over that little bridge, but he does go into the garden. Sometime in the future, I want to add a koi pond.

These gardens are found in many Japanese homes in Japan, although in a much larger scale. If you look closely, there are pagodas or little Japanese temples. In the upper right hand part of the picture, there is a black stone bowl with a bamboo water spout. This is my fountain. Here is a closer look. Do you see my little man fishing?

This is a Koi (the fish) pond. Mine will be MUCH smaller than this pond.

Paka rarely goes in the garden. He has a big yard to explore. No, water does not go under the bridge. The stones represent the flowing river.

A koi pond would be awesome.  I would love to have one for my backyard, but I have trouble keeping up with the 5 tanks I have now.  Gardening is such a stress reliever!

The red tree in the middle, is that a Japanese Maple?

Hi Sattie! No this is not a Japanese Maple tree. Only two varieties of Japanese Maple grows in Hawaii and they are hard to find.

Wow Linda!  That's incredible!  How long did that take you to make?  Does Paka like it?  x

That is so beautiful!  I'd LOVE to have that.  A koi pond will be really awesome as well.  That sure looks like a lovely place to relax and get the stress out.

After looking at it again, I can tell it is not one now.  I love those trees, some friends of mine got me one when my mom passed, but sadly, the tree died after 2 years.  What kind of tree is that HP?
