I just wanted to let everyone know that if I am away from here a lot within the next week, it is not by choice. We switched to cable internet from our phone companys dsl because of all the problems we had, now we are having trouble with the cable internet too. Really, we are so stressed from all this. And I tell ya, the techs that I've had to talk to... some are complete idiots!
Anyway, it's narrowed down and decided that it is not a cable line prob, but a prob with the couple of connections from the modem to the PC. This is the 1st time I've been able to get online in hours and hours. We never know how long it will last. They are sending us a tech out, but they claim that they can't get one here until the 20th! Just great.... I will be in here if and when I can, just wanted the cabana crew to know what's going on here. When I can't get in here and/or reply and post it saddens me. Take care Everyone!
Oh no! We're going to miss you honey! It's funny how it's not until something breaks that we realise just how much we need it but took it for granted! I am constantly doing that!
James told me just the other day that when we get around to switching internet companies we'll be off the net for a month. A month! I dont know what I'll do without it! Without CC!

You all are wonderful, thank you. Since my last reset on the modem I've pretty much been able to be online. The PC light on the modem is still flashing constantly, it is supposed to be steady, but at least I am able to be online. For a long time today the PC light was not lit up at all, that's when I was having the bad problems. Hopefully, things will stay in fair shape like this until the tech comes on the 20th. I appreciate the responses and I'm glad you all will know what's up if I can't be here. HUGS to you all!
I hate when the cable guys say they can't get here until blah blah blah date. I'm like, well I PAY your company for a service. I do expect to have someone here at least within a day or two at the most. But that is a long time to wait Jenn. I hope they give you a discount or something. Hopefully you can stay connected until then because we will miss you:)
Yeah newf, I didn't see why someone couldn't get here within a couple days, but, that's what they said. They did say that if I was unable to be online they would credit the down time for us on the bill. It's still working pretty well now though, so maybe it will keep it up!
Hey Guys. I worked all day and half the night yesterday and was unable to get online at all. Today it seems I can get on, at least for now. I thought I had finally figured out what the problem was yesterday, but turned out I was wrong. I guess I was anyway. It seems that different cords and reconnects and resets and re-installs just are not doing the trick. It works when it wants to and that it. SO frustrating! It just makes no sense. Sometimes it seems like we have a short in our Ethernet port, but then when I connected our modem through the optional USB port, that didn't work either. Well, it did once, then I couldn't get it to work again. Maybe it's just the modem. I guess we will know nothing for sure until the tech comes. I will just get online when it lets me and try to keep from stressing so much when it doesn't.
Well, the tech came this morning and got our Internet fixed. I hope for good. Part of the cable line outdoors was chewed up by some animal and he replaced that. He also checked our connections and fixed a couple things we had wrong. He says we should be good now. We have a free 30 trial of the 5 meg high speed. It is faster that our 3 meg, but we have not decided if we are gonna keep the 5 meg or not. If we do, they said it would be about a 15 dollar increase on our monthly bill. We will decide in a couple weeks probably if we are gonna keep it or not. Anyway, hopefully I will have no more probs and can stay caught up with the Cabana!
