Usually skin and coat issues are tied to diet. Since Corona has been having some food issues, it may take a while to see any benefits from her diet. Fish oil vitamins could help with her itchy skin, but again, given her recent issues, I would consult the advice of a vet or see what some other members may reccomend. You may also try bathing her in a oatmeal based shampoo, it is known to soothe and help alleviate dry itchy skin.
Sattie has a good point with the oatmeal shampoo. Louis (my shihtzhu-x) was having problems with food also, and his skin was a HUGE mess, he kept digging at it, and if i bathed him, he would welt up everywhere. We found a food finally, and started using oatmeal shampoo, and he doesn't have anymore skin problems. It helps to soothe dry itchy skin, and still leaves thier coat soft and silky. Hopefully that helps
Great advice frmo SAattie and Lisa there, good job girls! Another thing that might help is viatmin A. You can buy it in a capsule form and put it on her food or you could give her margarine (do you have margarine in the US?).
Hello Guys i think that dry skin is common. It happens more often during the cold months season when cold air outside and warmed air inside cause low wetness. Forced-air heaters make skin even more dry.The skin drops wetness and may break and stem, or become annoyed and infected. Showering too frequently, especially with severe cleansers, may give rise to dry skin.Meals may cause dry skin. Thanks a lot!!
