Hey so while at the pet store today I decided to buy some treats for my puppy-to-be. I asked the sales lady what type she suggested. She told me she gives her chi moist treats, particularly Zukes ( http://www.zukes.com/shop/index.php?cPath=2_10 )
Just wonderin if you guys have any suggestions for good dry cookies and treats for chis?
There are so many treats on the market these days, I think one of the key things to keep in mind with treats is to feed them sparingly. I would try to find treats that are organic and do not contain alot of fillers. My kids like BilJac liver treats (they are moist) but they do not get them but maybe once a week. They also like Marrow Bones, but again, they may get those once or twice a week. I am sure others here will have some excellent suggestions for you.
One treat that dogs really really love is liver. Yucky I realise but worth it to see their eager, excited litttle faces! What you do is get some raw liver, then bake it until it is dry. Then you cut it up into as small a pieces as posible. It's also a great treat to use when you're training your dogs as they'll do pretty much anything for it and because of the conveniently small size!
I give Ellie fresh cooked meat as a treat a couple of times a week. Also chews that will help clean her teeth and keep her occupied and entertained.
I would stay clear from cheap kinds and ones that use a lot of grain as filler. The better the meat quality the better the chew.
