Well, last night went much better than I had anticipated! Ususally I have Merrie in her kennel beside our bed all night, and she wakes me up to go to the bathroom once in the middle of the night. So I didn't want to kennel them both, then be waking up all night, because I was sure that they wouldn't wake up at the same time to go, therefore, I would have a pretty sleepless night! I decided to try putting them both in the X-pen, with their kennel doors open, and see how that would work. It worked beautifully, both of them slept snuggled up together in Mater's kennel! Of course I worried about them, being out of my bedroom and all, so I checked on them a few times, and they were always sound asleep, yay!!! Now, about this dominance issue........ahhhh, poor Mater!
There will be a struggle to figure out who's the alpha between the two, it will go on for a week or two, but they are close in age, and raised togther partially, so they will be okay, they might even fight a bit, but they won't hurt eachother, as soon as the other one cries, they will stop.It's normal, and it's okay. I am glad to hear that your first night with both went well : ) Lil' Mater LOL will be missed, what a doll, I love the way he snuggles.

OMG, you are so right about the snuggles, he loves to give them, and I love to recieve them right back!! Don't worry, I will bring him back so often, you won't even notice that he doesn't live live with you anymore!! Thank you for giving me the most amazing puppies, you did a great job with raising them, they both didn't have any difficulties in their new home on the first night, that is amazing!! I love my puppies so much, they are like my children! Ya, you are right about the dominance thing, I have already seen exactly what you just said in action this morning, Merrie is just such a fattie, lol, and she usually wins most of the battles....but he is catching on quick!!!
Aww Lisa, I am sooo happy that both of your babies are home and together... Merrie can teach Mater the ropes around the house...lol She will probably end up the alpha... you know how women are! Need to see lots of pics of the pair...Deb

Good to hear Lisa, I did not think you would have any problems with them. And if you did, they would be relatively minor. I think you got an awesome pair and I do look forward to seeing the group pics!!!
Yes, Merrie is definately trying to be the alpha....but poor little Mater doesn't have too much choice in the matter, she is twice his size!! But he does bite at her legs when she gets on top of him, so he has a bit of an advantage being short, lol! I have been so busy today, I haven't had time for pics, but hopefully tonight I will get to take some cute ones to post.
Well, Mater is definately catching up with Merrie, he is now able to topple her over onto her back and she really isn't too sure how to deal with it, lol. So, right now, they are actually pretty even, but she is way faster than him, it will be interesting to see who "wins" in the end!
