Corona Update

Well, we ended up taking an emergency trip to the vet this morning, though for a totally unrelated event. She got wounded on her morning walk with mum (which turned out to be nothing more than a small cut on top of her foot, what a wimp, haha) and she wouldnt put her foot down, so we took her in to emerg and discussed her other problem at the same time.

The vet advised against raw feeding (surprise surprise) and suggested we try another food and see how she does on it. So, she gave us some sample packs of... I think it's called Medi-Cal... from the vet office, but also suggested Innova and Eagle Pack.

So, we just gave her some of the wet Nutrical for lunch and unfortnately had the same result. She was less happy about the food, going in and out of her pen, but finally did finish it. Unfortunately, the results were the same... by the time she finished eating, she was shaking badly.

We'll keep her on it for a couple of days anyway and then... I guess back to the vet if nothing changes for blood tests.

Well, it is good to hear that her paw is ok.....but too bad about the food thing, I wonder about going back to Royal Canin small puppy, if I remember corredtly, she didn't have any reactions on that? Well, either way, I wish you luck, and hope that you find a food that works for her!!

Yea, I was really hoping we were on to something last night, I was pretty sure that the coldness of the food may have been causing the shakes she is having. Very distressing... so will she be returning to the vet for tests?

She will go back in for testing if necessary, yes, but the vet said to give her a few days on this food and see how she is.

She seemed better on the kibble tonight so... fingers crossed.

Did the vet say what he thought was in the raw diet might have caused Corona to shake like that?

Well, she seems to have stopped the trembling, thankfully... the concern I have now is that she isn't consuming very much food. She is unenthusiastic about her meals, and only eats a few kibbles, though they are quite large for her.

So... we've got some decisions to make in the next day or two to try and find something she will actually eat.

Good news that the trembling has subsided, but I agree, trying to find a kibble that she will like. I am sure it is not as tasty as the patties that you were feeding her, but when she gets hungry enough, she WILL eat what you feed her. I got my guys to where they would not care what I put in the bowl, all they know it is 10 am, time to eat..... 6pm, time to eat... will eat what ever momma puts in the bowl!!!

OH I am so happy that she has stopped trembling. I was worried about you two. I agree with Sattie about when she gets hungry enough.
