poor baby

So to make a long story short, my good friends dad was given this multi-poo, 8 yrs. old, my friend took him to the vet who said he only has about 5 or 6 teeth left. and this dog I was told refuses to eat, anyways the vet wanted $500 to do his teeth, and I do teeth, (without putting them under) so she brought him over, a dog that should be 5 lbs. he was 3 lbs. skinny as a rake, I have never seen a dog in this condition that was breathing,  you could see (yes see) the circles on his pelvis, my girlfriend had taken him to a groomer because he was so matted, they shaved his intire bum! and he has a maltease coat!  and ways, I did his teeth, wich were bad, but he has a full set! (what kind of an idiot was that vet?) any who, he had a wicked shieth infection, (I've seen it before) so I cleaned him and gave her some antibiotics for it, but what kind of a vet would not have put this dog on fluids and fed him intervienusly ASAP? he was standing there starving on my grooming table. so I bought some puppy milk and mixed it with canned food, and well basically force fed him. this poor little boy who is obviously deaf and blind, (he walk right into Deja, how you miss her@ 80 lbs. is bejond me) LOL,  but I know who the previous owner was, and have half a miind to confront him, who owns a dog for 8 yrs. and gives him away because they know he's gonna die? why didn't they do something?
thank god he's in a good home now, but I'm not convinced that he'll survive this, he's been malnuirished a long time. I actually cried when I felt him for the first time. Bad dog people make me sick.
But I will keep you up to date on his progress, he's such a brave little boy, and so loved by his 78 yr.old  new owner. the reason I told you this is I think people need to know about what bad dog owners are getting away with.

My blood is absolutely boiling!!! I have zero patience for ppl who mistreat or neglect animals... I personally think they should suffer the exact same treatment or lack thereof they inflicted on this poor baby... Thank the Lord he has someone who is trying to do everything possible for him now.. If he doesn't survive, at the very least he will have been with ppl who care and are trying to make him comfortable.. Beth, I sincerely hope you decide to confront the previous owners.. all they had to do was turn the little guy over to someone else before he ended up in this condition.. They will answer for this in the end, I am sure... Bless you for what you are trying to do for this baby.. Deb

Beth, it is a shame that this happens to our little fur babies, they above all do not deserve this kind of treatment. I am like you, it infuriates me to no end and I often want to just beat the living tar out of people who allow this to happen!!! All I know is that we have a solider in you Beth who stands guard over these little ones and thank God you were there to care for this baby in need. Please keep us updated and I know we would love to see some pics of him once he is back to health.

He is so lucky to have met you. I couldn't believe that someone could be so cruel and stupid when you told me about it the other day...but now to read it in print....i am speechless. You have a huge heart, he is very lucky that he was brought over to you when he was, because apparently the vet just wasn't enough. Even if he doesn't make it, i have to agree with Deb, at least he has spent some time with people that truely care about him, and he is feeling loved.

I wanted to offer an update to the multi-poo that Beth spoke about it this thread. After speaking with her today, I'm happy to say that he is doing much better, has a loving home, eating three meals a day and has gained weight!!!! This is awesome news and I just wanted to share it with everyone.

Thank God for Beth! Things happen for a reason. The people who did that to that poor defenseless baby should be shot.

Chiaddict, I feel the same way.
He is doing so well, his hair (the matts that were shaved off) on his bum is growing back, he's look'in real good, I am going to weigh him next week and get his back teeth, his teeth were a huge part of the problem, and out here they charge $500 to put a small breed under (they always want to so they don't get bit, or stress them out) and scrape and scale their teeth, so nobody does it. If your not on a clock like a vet, and have experience, you can do it well without hurting them or you, and nobody gets stressed out. I wish more vets would take the time, instead of seeing $$$$. out here we pay more because we're on an island, but also canadian vets are generally more, as well as what we pay for dog food.
He is such a darling boy, and I hope one day karma will bite that guy right in the ***! apparently they were "going away" and wanted to get rid of him before their trip. NICE! if my babies can't come, I'm not going! but that's just me. I don't take them all mind you, a couple, but the rest stay in my home with their auntie. : ) Please pray for him to make a full recovery, he is doing well, but still has a long way to go.
He needs good thoughts.

Oh, I appriciate your coments about me, but really it's not deserved, he is the one who is so brave, and endured such a life, he still has a long road, but he's so brave to carry on and try to get better.but really him and his new owner deserve the credit.

Guess there is no need to tell you that I am certainly praying for the little guy Beth...I am so happy he now has a home with ppl who will love and care for him...
Beth, I know that it is not easy for you to accept compliments for the things you do out of total love and devotion to the animals who pass thru your life...But, you gotta be honest girlie, and know that not everyone is willing to go the "extra mile" to save a life... You don't just "talk the talk", you actually "walk the walk!"  For that, you do deserve admiration and you certainly have mine... Deb
