This weekend I went out to Alberta and made a special trip to Okotoks to meet my little Corona and oh man, I'm even more in love! She's TINY, smaller than I imagined... they're not even sude if she'll make 4lbs now. And she is SO pretty, even the breeder said she's one they would show if they could.
We stayed for two hours and played with all the dogs/puppies and it only reaffirmed what I already knew, these people are fantastic! These dogs do NOT fit the "Chihuahua stereotype", they are friendly with everyone, they stopped barking as soon as we got into their room, just awesome.
Corona's half-sister is a little 2.5lb 4y/o white/cream that they own and she's just a doll, sooo quiet. And her full sister, a couple years old is awesome, I'd have taken her home if I could, but hopefully Corona will grow up similar. Just a total love-bug, in everyone's face looking for kisses and snuggles. Mum and dad are awesome too, which I already knew, hehe.
Corona is great, she doesn't walk, she PRANCES, and she's a talker, lots of little whimpers and whines, I just love her. And I truly believe that she is the one I would have picked out if I had gotten to meet all the pups before making my choice, I think she will be perfect for me.
I also found out that I don't have to go pick her up... the breeders have a cabin not too far from here and they are coming out in a week or two anyway, so offered to bring her that far for us. So that's about a 45 minute drive, instead of a 7 hour one. The mother is weaning the pups, and they go for their vet visit on Friday so... they said I might even get her early.
STACEY!!! NO pics?????? Girl, sounds like you had a great time visiting with your new baby... and I am glad that the visit only reaffirmed your pick... apart from wanting to take the rest home with you to!!! LOL!!! It's not to long now girlie!!!! Corona will be here before you know it!!!
Right on Stacey! I'm glad that she was everything that you'd hoped for and more. But like the other girls said....where are the pics??? You must be so excited to be getting her even earlier than you thought! Congrats!
Ya know what, in all the chaos and pure insanity of the weekend, I forgot my camera at the hotel in Calgary when we went to visit her. No, forgot isn't even right, I hadn't put it into the purse I thought I had so when I got there and went to grab my camera...
But SOON, she will be home with me and then you will be so sick of pictures... !! hehe
Oh wow, it sounds like you had a wonderful time, I'm so pleased for you! Corona sounds like a perfect match and I can just imagine how you must be feeling right now...many butterflies in your stomach?! lol
Conterary to many peoples belief Chihuahuas should actrually be as social as you described and I am SO glad to hear of a breeder that knows and breeds to that specific breed trait! All too often I have heard (only in the US I'm afraid to say) that people consider Chihuahuas to be yappy, snappy little things. It's sad, and I feel sorry for those people who've had such a rough experience as these little dogs should be SO socilable and fun to have around.
Congrats on the baby, she's sounds GREAT! I cant wait to see and hear all about her!
Ooooh, I'd be happy to show her for ya if you'd just like to ship her over to the UK for me?! lol She's GORGEOUS, a real sweetheart! Do you think you will show her?

I'd love to show her if I could, but I don't know the first thing about it. Don't even know if there are any shows around here. Do you really think she is show-worthy? I'd even consider putting her with a handler if I could, but I don't think it will be possible.
