We had lots of goodies for Rufus for his first Christmas. We also had some catnip filled "sacks" for the five cats. We gave Rufus his toys, which he barely sniffed. But boy o boy did he want the cat's toys!
He ran all over the living room, picking them up one at a time and taking them over to his favorite hidy place. He even wrastled a couple away from very "high" cats! Then he sat sort of barricaded in his cubby with the catnip sacks all around him. It was so funny!
He still is playing with them today. He hasn't ripped them open yet, but I do expect to eventually find catnip all over the place.
Don't know if it is the shape and size of the toys, or the catnip, that he finds so attractive.
Hey Lin!!! I would love to see piccys of that!!! I suspect that maybe the catnip would lend to some exciteability in Rufus, and just the fact that what ever you get for others and not for Rufus, he will naturally be attracted to. I think that is so funny!!! But hey, as long as he is enjoying himself (and you him), I don't think you can lose!!!
We got catnip for our cat once, and the dogs kept on rolling in it once they got a hold of it! I think it's hilarious, and our cat thinks he's a dog, so he just waltzes right on over and snatches it back from them... and when they try and take it again... the cat GROWL!!
LOL! Oh Lin, how funny! Isn't it just typical that Rufus wants the the toys that dont belong to him! lol I've not seen any animal, much less a dog, with catnip so I'm afraid I cant shed any light on this for you. But I can tell you it made me laugh, and like Sattie I would love to see photos of it!
