How is everyone doing on this cold (here in Tennessee) Friday morning!!!? As you all know I work for my dad, we build suspension components for dirt bikes. WELL my dad decided to go to NC to go fishing yesterday and today, so he leaves me here alone. Tell me if you all agree with me..... When people call us, the only thing I can do is take an order if they know what they want. Usually when people call they talk to my dad forever, asking him questions about the AirCells, questions that I cannot answer!! So don't you guys think it is stupid that I am even here today or that we are even open today bc I CAN'T DO ANYTHING!! Yesterday 2 people that called said "Really, there's no one else there I can talk to??" Acting like it is weird that I am the only one here and can't even answer their question. My dad said just tell them he is testing at the track and he will call them on his cell phone. I think it is unprofessional, I think it would be better if the answering machine just said we are closed today for whatever reason. We don't even get that many calls, and if they do it is usually people from CA so they don't call until around 3 and we close at 5. I GUESS I JUST WANT TO GO HOME :)
I can't say I blame you on that one. It seems it would be better to just let the calls roll to an answering machine. I think I would rather be at home to!!!! Do you have to work the weekends too???
No we are open Tues-Fri. Usually suspension shops are closed mondays and open on Saturdays but we aren't,lol. My dad wants to retire so bad but now he has this business to run. If I was a customer calling for a tech. question on a product and all they had there to talk to was a secretary, that can't do anything, I would be mad. But they don't see it that way, so i have to sit here and try to look at stuff on the computer but my head is really a bout to explode bc I haven't looked at anything else but a computer for the past 2 days. OH GREAT now my Grandpa is here.
Ha!!! Sounds like your day is going just swell!!!! NOT! Maybe Gradpa can help ya out. I am sorry, sounds like a bum deal for you. And I know exactly what you are saying about your head exploding... I feel like that all the time at my job!

No he was no help. So today is my grannys Bday and my mom, sister,brother,grandpa and my neice Rylee are all going to a Greek Fest they are having here. But I don't get to go because I have to stay here and run OUR family business while my dad fishes. I don't think this is fair!!! And they don't even pay me good enough to be RUNNING THIS BUSINESS!
I completely agree with you, I think that the calls should have just been directed to an answering machine saying that you were closed for the day. Ugh, that doesn't sound like any fun at all I hope that your day gets better... maybe you can have a talk with your dad once he gets back from fishing and come up with a better plan for if he does this again.
