How often do you feed your chi?

We had this in the old forum, thought it would be interesting to know the same on this forum.

Feel free to imbellish or your feeding regimen!

I feed my guys 2 meals a day and treats are once a day usually.

I started out just leaving food out for him (since he's using the litter box, I don't have to schedule walks out) - but when we started having dominance problems, I changed that. Now he has to wait until after I'm finished eating, and then I put his bowl down. Seems to be helping.

But he does get treats throughout the day with training, so he gets plenty to eat. I'm afraid I'll end up with a little vienna sausage if I'm not careful!!!!

I leave food out all day in Ellie's bowl and she just eats as and when she needs it.  She seems very good at regulating her food imput and only eating when she needs to.  Lucky really considering she never really took to set meal times!

Jen, do you plan on giving him set meal times as he gets older?  Because if you do, you'll want to start when he is a pup.  Once his pattern of eating is set it would be very tricky to change it.

Breakfast and dinner for my little pups!

When I lived on my own I would just leave biscuits food in his bowl all the time... But since we moved in where BoBo is, he will just eat all the little boys food if we did that!

Twice a day for mine except the other morning I had to go to work real early and they wouldn't eat their morning meal so I left it out for them for the day.

I leave kibble down at all times for my guys.  With 7 chis, Abby and Charlie all eating, it is well distributed thru out the day..

Radar has food out at all times. He eats a bite here and a bite there. He seems to regulate his intake pretty well.

I just keep food in their bowls. They munch when they want to, usually when my hubby and I sit down for supper. None of them really 'pigs' out.
