For Boots, it has got to be that no matter where he lays, he lays so that he is touching all of us. Also, he snorts on you if you are not paying attention to him.
For Binks, it is when he burps. You can set your watch by it. Feed him his meal, 3 minutes later, he jumps up on your lap, gets in your face, and proceeds to let the loudest burp go!!! The manners around this house!!!!
When Houdini wants you to play with him, he will "drop" whatever it is he's wanting to play with on you. This means - when your on the couch, and he's on the back of it, expect a toy to plop on your head. It is tooo funny! Sometimes I won't play with him just to get him to do it again - it's hilarious :)
When a loved one comes to visit, Paka will circle that person's legs, round and round and round till that person acknowledges him. He'll do that for 5 minutes till they give him a hello and a hug.
If you are a visitor in my house you will not get out without at least one lick in the mouth from Bella. She loves smooching new people.
Beni likes to have a daily spat with my outside cat. He sees her everyday and is fine and then all of sudden he starts cussing her out in barks for no reason.
I have 3 dogs. When I dole out treats my chi, Nena, will be more concerned with trying to steal the other dog's treats than eating her own. And she succeeds a lot of the time in getting and hoarding other treats. She is quite the character.
Trying to think.... I know Hershey sighs really loud if he is disturbed when he is sleeping and/or resting. Once you leave him alone again, he sighs a big sigh. I get a kick out of it. Jax has a habit of hiding toys and such behind the couch. Sassy has a terrible habit of barking and going crazy of you give any other pet attention but her. Course... Thats a behavior I guess. I'll update if I think of something else later.
Lin, I used to think a lot of Ellie's funny traits were because she was a puppy too. Like her playing a lot, crouched down with her bum in the air, tail wagging, and stuff like that, but I've come to realise (to my great surprise and joy) that it is a Chi thing! I love, love how these dogs stay so playful and puppy-like in adulthood! Of course, Ellie is still only ten months, but I cant see her changing now.
Ellie will lick my ankles after I get out of the bath/shower. Every time! That's a cute and funny habit I guess.
She sulks when I tell her good night, because she knows it means she gets put in her basket and not in my bed!
When she gets excited she jumps, and often she'll jump straight up. I mean, all four paws off the ground, vertical jump upwards! When she does it and she's still wagging her tail her bum wiggles in the air. It's the cutest thing!
There are just so many funny little things Ellie does (as I'm sure all your Chis do too!). Too many to list really. But I'll keep thinking and post the best ones.
Envy sometimes pees with one leg up still crouched though, Fang will chase her tail, Luna swims in an inch of water! it's really funny to see, and Voodoo if you come near him, falls over (doesn't lay, falls over) and shows his belly for a scratch, he does it constantly.

That is a hoot WCC!!! The swimming thing is funny, I was holding Binks one day and held him over the toliet and he started swimming, I can hold him over the table and he wont do it. My point is, how do they know they are over water??? Be it a sink, toliet, bathtub, he even does it around my fish tanks!
I did think of one thing Rufus does that cracks me up - he'll be busy running around and playing and have to go potty - so he runs over to the litter box, puts his front legs in, and pees right next to it! Having too much fun to bother getting all the way in, I guess.
I think he figures if he's half way in, he did the job right.
Radar has a bad habit of licking David's head. Especially, when David would firs tome home from work, I think it was the sweat or something. But, Radar will sit for hours licking David's head, if we'd let him.
And, I have also noticed lately, that when Radar goes to pee and hikes his leg, he switches his leg a few times. He'll be right in the middle of a pee and he'll go from one leg to the other, and I swear it looks like he is dancing. It is too funny.
Rosa, Ellie also licks James' head when ever she gets the chance! Although, to be honest I think Ellie would lick just about anything! She's just a lick machine!
Ellie also does that pawing thing. It is cute, but it actually sometimes hurts! Like when she does it to my face when I'm alseep! She has sharp little nails!
Biscuit does the same thing! He does not nicely lay down, he will just Plop down and fall anywhere, When hes trying to "Dig " himself a good spot on the bed right in the middle he just..."THUMPS" down and goes to sleep.

OMG! Now I would just love to see that!
I have to admit that I have some "ploppers" too!!! It is sooooo funny!!!
Chewy paws my shoulder for me to lift the covers so he can go under them at night. The funny thing was that he did this the other night and I wasn't under the covers.
My foster, Coyote, does the funniest thing when she pees. She starts off squating and then lifts her hind end up off the ground and then walks forward on just her front legs while still peeing. She sometimes does this while pooing too... Crazy dog...
Akira, just loves to lick you to death. And she dances for your attention.
Reading that last post reminded me of something else Ellie does. When she's peeing, if she's on grass, or if it's wet she will squat but then lift one of her hind legs up slightly. I'm guessing that it's because she doesn't want to get her belly wet! It's almost as though she ****s her leg like a boy doggie would do!

I have another for Ellie! Just before she bites you she will wrinkle up her nose and it is so cute! Ok so I know she shouldn't be biting at all, but it's only through play, and if she has to do it (which aparently she does!) then at least she looks cute doing it!
Lucy does this three legged dance by you when you call her to come. It is absolutely adorable. She backs up to you so you can pick her up.
Jazzy does this 'stevie-wonder-like' swagger up to you when you call her. She also has the thickest tail I have ever seen in a chi and you can tell when she's happy from the large thud on the floor or couch.
Molly can be sitting their all quiet and wide eyed. As soon as you say her name or look at her she squints and licks her lips. So cute.
Coco jumps on your lap and pushes her cheek to your mouth so you can kiss or bite it. If you don't pay attention she paws your lips.

Yes, they are lucky they are cute!

How cute!!!! Each has their own cute little habit!!!
I fogot one goofy habit of Boots'.... I take a bath every Sunday and when I do, I turn on the space heater for them. Once in a while, they will jump up on the bath tub edge to check on me. As soon as I open the drain, Boots starts whining and making strange noises, and dances around like I have been missing for days! He does it everytime I take a bath and sometimes when I am in the shower. He seems so excited to see me!!! Maybe it is because I smell better!!!
Ellie also does the same thing! It's like she's saying she's missed me for so long! I've also discovered that she likes to eat bubbles from the bubble bath I use! I try not to let her as I worry it might make her sick!
Beni has started doing this thing lately where whenever I am on the couch he has to lay on my shoulder. he gets up there and wraps himself around my neck and lays his little head on my shoulder. He is doing it right now as I am typing this. He has even started to bring his toys up there to chew on. I guess cause Bella hogs my lap he decided that my neck and shoulder is his spot. He makes me feel bad for getting up though cause he gets so comfy. It is really cute and if I turn my head towards him he licks my nose if he is not sleeping.
Ellie does that sometimes too! She sort of uses James and I as a human climbing frame! I call her a mountain goat when she does it! As I have a Laptop I often sit with it on my knees, and sometimes Ellie will sit there beside me and start to whine/bar/sneeze and paw at me to get my attention to let me know she wants me to move the Laptop! It's the funniest thing! I guess she's just too used to having me all to herself all of the time! x
Hey Jess, that is too funny, Binks does the same thing too about climbing all over us and the couch... we call him Binky-goat when he does that! And he does the pawing thing when you are not paying enough attention to him. That is a riot!!!
I forgot something. The cutest thing Ellie does is when you talk to her she tips her head. Every time, without fail, if yhou talk to her she'll look at you and them just strt tipping her head in different directions! It is sooo cute! x
The only photo I have of her doing this is one I took when she was a baby. Here it is..
LOL....Jess, I have the laptop on my lap on the couch too and Bella and Beni do the same thing like Ellie. They like to walk all over it to and sometimes at verbage to my posts that I have to edit. Bella will lay right on top of my laptop sometimes. That is funny you call Ellie a mountain goat cause that is what Beni looks like when climbing up to get to my shoulder. Also Bella does that head tilt and it is the cutest thing so I can fully picture Ellie doing it and I know it is adorable.

How funny!!!! Binks loves scruchies! He holds it down with his paw and then pulls on it with his teeth, then lets go. He must like them smacking him in the face. He also likes pulling the socks off bit.... they seem so triumphant when they finally get it off huh??
Everyone's chis have such funny little habits. It's great!!:)
The one thing that I really find weird/funny is what he does when I am laying on the couch. He will get up on my chest, and then rub his whole body from his head to the base of his tail through my hair against my neck. And it is always the same side of the neck, the left side. He reminds me of a cat rubbing his body against your leg. Thats how it feels to me. It is the weirdest thing..lol He doesn't do it to hubby though, just me. It's not just once either, he does it at least three or four times in a row. It cracks me up!
The other thing he does is bury his bones/treats if he can't finish them. He will find his blankets, or his toy box, his bed, where he finds something he can nose over his treats. That's where he will bury them. It is so funny to see him use his nose to push his blankets or toys over his treats to hide them. Zip has figured this out, and will watch him to see where he goes, then when he isn't looking, she will go and take his treats and run away with them. Now Chuwee knows she knows, and he stands guard duty over his toy box for a few minutes to make sure she won't get his treats...lol
I wished you could get a pic of Chuwee rubbing on ya... that does sound funny.
Boy, this could go on forever... I know Binks likes the smell of certain things, like Burt's Bees lip balm and lavendar. If I put this on myself, Binks will rub himself on it to get the smell on him. I would rather he do that them rub in some you know what!
Rufus is learning to pick up his toys! That's a good trick, huh?
He will grab his toys or chewy bones and stash them in one of his three beds, or in two little cubby places that he likes to hunker down in. It's funny. He'll also do like you say, Newf, he'll bring a treat that he hasn't finished to one of those places too.
Sometimes he puts it in one place, then goes back a few minutes later and moves it to one of the other places!

Crazy dog

I just love your avie and siggy!!! My dogs would never hide a treat... they last only seconds around these guys. As for chew bones, I only put one out and they take turns chewing on it untill it is gone. If Boots keeps it to long... Binks will start barking in his ear. Our dogs are just too funny!
Hey Sattie - I love the avie and siggie too - thanks to Megan, they are beautiful!!!!!!
Most biscuits and treats Rufus gulps right down, but the Nylabone eatable bones seem to take him a little longer. And so far the cats aren't too interested in stealing his treats!
