What is going on?!

With all these school shootings?! I feel like everytime they show one on TV some idiots get the idea and do it too! I swear I will not let my kids go to public school(hopefully i can homeschool) it just is not worth it to me.  When I was in High School this kid that I knew of(he went to my middle school too) told his friend (that I also knew) that he was going to shoot his teacher bc she had called his mom about him being on drugs in school or something. He said he was going to follow her to her car when she left bc she was an assistant teacher so she left before school got out. And the time was getting closer and his friend finally told a teacher and they got him before he did anything. But he had the gun in his backpack sitting right next to my best friend!!!! I remember that day too, we had to go on lock down. They need to have all the doors LOCKED at all times and metal detectors. It just has to happen.

It is crazy... and sad.  Home schooling is looking better all the time. Things sure have changed since I have been in school.

I dont know about home schooling; it is terribly isolating for the child/children which can cause problems also.  I live in an area where there are lots of homeschooled kids and they are nine times out of ten socially inept.  Of course, there are bonus' but I dont think I would want to do it unless absolutely necessary.  But then we dont have so much trouble with guns/knives etc. in schools here in England.

I think really the answer would be to move to another planet and just start again with a small, select colony.    What d'ya think?!

Love, Jess x

All this school stuff is really upsetting.   Used to going to school was not feared.  It's crazy!   If I had children, I'd have to home school, I really would.  I'd just also be sure my child got to socialize with other children.  Schools are just way to dangerous these days.  The Amish school tragedy is just so sad.  You really don't expect to hear of such things happening to groups like the Amish.  It just doesn't matter, everyone is a target it seems now days.  I hope everyone will pray for all the school children that do have to go into the schools each day.

I was talking to my hubby about this exact same thing last night.  I was so upset when I heard about those children in the Amish school after just hearing about the other school shootings.  I don't know what's going on, but it would sure make me think twice about leaving my kids in a school setting these days.  I think for me too, the Amish school shootings were very surreal. It isn't something I would have ever thought would have happened there.  And why the children? Why can some man, nurse a hatred for over twenty years apparently, and just walk into a school and do something like that.  Those children weren't even born then. Sometimes I have a hard time trying to understand God's bigger plan.

Well I have decided not to have any children. Maybe I just listen and watch the news more than I used to but it seems violence and other crimes is getting worse and worse.

I agree that all these school shootings are CRAZY!!! It seems like it has become a chain reaction, one shooting right after another! At my high school, we never had problems with guns or knives or anything to that nature. But, we did have a few bomb threats, which was bad enough. We had bomb dogs brought in a couple of times, along with drug dogs. Going to school has became a very scary thing. How can children be educated when they have to worry about being killed in the classroom?

I watched Glenn Beck last night on CNN and this was really disturbing to me. I found the artical on his website this morning.

On September 20th we did an interview on this program with Hamid Mir, a Pakistani Journalist who's met with Osama bin Laden in the past and who claims to have recently met with a key al-Qaeda leader in Afghanistan.

That leader, Mir says, told him that al-Qaeda has finished it's quote "cycle of warnings" and is getting ready to unleash an "American Hiroshima" by -- you guessed it -- smuggling a nuke into the U.S. across the border.

The attack, according to the al-Qaeda operative, is to be masterminded by a U.S. citizen and al-Qaeda cell leader who's been called "the next Mohammed Atta." This cell leader also goes by the alias "Jafar the Pilot," and has been missing and wanted by the FBI since 2003. There's also a $5 million reward for his capture.

I am scared.
