Well, we had a great time in Galveston for the past few days. The weather was great. Not too hot and no rain. They just had a bad storm the day before we got there. We did see some lightening over the water the first night there, but no rain came inland. The funny thing is that we went off season, and it was like Shrek at Dulock. There were hardley any people there tourist wise. It was great!! We went to Moody Gardens, which has a beautiful aquarium, rainforest exibit, and lots of other flora and fauna to see. There were hardly any people there so we could go at our own speed. It was wonderful. We also went to the Houston Space Center. That was a very interesting place to see and the history in there was awesome.
Here are some pics of the ocean that was right across the street from our hotel. It was so nice to wake up to the sounds of the water, and smell the salt breeze while sitting on the balcony having a few drinks. We would definitely go back there sometime. Although, I did miss the dogs, and they went crazy when we got home. They haven't let us out of their sight since yesterday..lol
The first pic is of our hotel. It is right in the middle of the picture to the left of the joe's crab shack sign..lol
Hey there, welcome back!!!! Looks like you had a wonderful view of the beach and I agree, going off peak season sure makes it that much more relaxing! I hope you had a wonderful Anniversary and I know Chuwee missed ya!!!!!
Hey, I deleted your other post in the Chi Pics section since you had this one here. Hope that is ok?
Looks lovely, and off peak season is always my choice!
I adore the ocean; I'd like to live by one some day. I used to do a lot of surfing when I was younger (before I got ill), and would like to go back to that some time in the future. Wouln't living by the sea be bliss?
Great Pictures!!!! Looks like a good time. I LOVE!!! the beach and I love beach pictures. We have stinkin' (literally) red tide on this side of the gulf. I was there the other day and you could hardley breathe with all the dead fish.
Here are a few more pics from our trip. There is a video we got of feeding time for the squid. It was really neat to see. I thought you might have fun watching it too:) We took these when we went to Moody Gardens for the day. We had a blast there.
Wonderful photos Newf! That first shot is fabulous.. Also loved the vid of the squids eating... I just love all animals and wildlife. That one squid was really snacking, huh? Deb

Moody Gardens has a wonderful aquarium there. If you have a chance to go, take the trip there. That little white and brown guy is a Tamarin, and they were just wandering around in the trees there. They weren't in cages so you could get really close to them. That one was maybe five feet from us as one point. The squid was awesome to watch. They actually turned colors from white to white with spots to dark brown. It was so neat to see. I love going to places like that. Any place that has animals is ok with me for a vacation.
