Hey everyone, I took Harley to the vet on Saturday to get shots. He did very good, let the lady cut his nails, was very sweet to them, giving them kisses. He did cry again for his shot though, it was sad. But everybody thought he was so cute but again when I said he was a Chihuahua some said he didn't look like one. But OH he got weighed and he is 6 1/2 lbs! He has gotten so big! Do any of you guys remember how much your Chi weighed at 4 months?
I'm so glad he did well! Sounds like Harley is gonna be a big boy! I know Hershey is a big chi, but I can't remember what he weighed at that age. I don't think it was quite that much though.
Spikey was born May 5, 2006, so he is 4 months & 2 weeks today and he weighs 4.5 pounds. He will be bigger than Neko who is 2 years old and weighs 4.5 now. Buster my long coat is my biggest chi who weighs 8 pounds and is 18 months old. We had him neutered at 6 months and he weighed 5.5 pounds when they did the surgery. Rio and Bandit are unusally small chis since Rio is 10 yrs and weighs 3 pounds and Bandit will probably be about the same. I wouldn't worry about Harley's weight as long as he is healthy. Buster has a larger frame than my other boys, but he is just beautiful. Chis have different builds and just need to be well proportioned for their frame. The weight issue only comes into play if you are interested in "showing." Harley is a gorgeous little guy and doesn't look overweight in his pics, he just has a larger frame like my Buster does... I think Harley is so Cute. I wouldn't worry about his weight. I know someone that said they seen a chi that weighed 20 lbs.
I got Beni at 5 months and he weighed 2 lbs. and now at 8&1/2 months he is 4 lbs. He has very short little legs.
Bella Blue is longer and taller than Beni. She weighed about 3 lbs at 4 months and is almost 8 months and weighs 6 lbs. now. I have really been spoiling mine tho and I think I need to cut back a little cause they definitely not skin and bones but not overweight either but I am worried they may become overweight. Bella is looking a bit plump lately
Chico will be three on Oct 5 ( my b-day too!) he weighs right at 6lbs when he is full of food and about 5.25-5.5 when our females go into heat and he doesnt really eat!
At four months I think Ellie weighed about 3lbs. She is nine months now, probably fully grown, and weighs 4.5lbs. Harley doesn't look overweight though, so I wouldn't worry!
You know, I was looking at pics of your Harley the other day, and I must admit I thought he looked a little like some sort of Collie pup! Now I dont mean that in an insulting way, obviously, you know I adore the little guy, it was just an observation. He's a cutie, but I can see how someone might mistake him for some other breed. But he sure has the personality of a Chi, doesnt he?!
Right now Hershey is right around 10.5 lbs. He lost from around 13 or 13.5 lbs. Two different scales say he's back down to about 10.5 lbs, but he still seems bigger than he did when he was at 10.5 lbs before. It may just be me. Anyway, I'm glad I've got him down some and would like to see him at 9 to 9.5 lbs. He looks really good at that weight.
Jax is down also. He was ab out 7 lbs and now is weighing in at 5.5 lbs. I hadn't really noticed a change in his weight, but it seems he has lost. He looks good.
Sassy has gained. She was 4 lbs when I got her, she is now at 5.5 lbs. She still seems thin to me, but I think she is just built that way. She eats well and is nice and healthy.
Sounds like Harley is gonna be a big boy!

Dogs are unconditional LOVE!
Anyway, I'm glad I've got him down some and would like to see him at 9 to 9.5 lbs. He looks really good at that weight.
