Hey Sammy! Welcome aboard! I planned my Chihuahua Ellie for four years before I finally got her. It's a useful space of time to read up on the breed, go to shows, and meet Breeders. I'd definitely recommend having a while before taking that final plunge to anyone. I found it invaluable, and would advise you to get researching!

Welcome, Sammy. As the others have said, this is a great opportunity for you to learn everything you can before you get your own wonderful chi! I've only had my baby Rufus for 6 days now, and I love him so much. I researched chihuahuas for a year before taking the plunge!
I didn't say before, but as the rest said, certainly do your Chi research so you'll be all ready for your 1st chi. I researched online and read several books and everything before getting my 1st chi and it's amazing how helpful it was! It is so much easier when you know alot about the breed when you get the pup. Can't stress that enough! Thank goodness these wonderful people here are pointing that out. Oh, in case you are interested in Books, I have Chihuahuas For Dummies and it's a great one to read.
Welcome! You are smart to want to learn about chis first before you get one. There is lots of good information here and great pictures to look at so when you are ready to get one you will know exactly what kind of chi you want
