Pets in Public buildings

Hi Everyone.  I was out and about today and had to take my Mom to the Doctor.  Ok, so I've seen people take little dogs in stores and such, but today I saw a older couple with a yorkie inside the Doc's office!  I was pretty surprised!  I mean, it was in the waiting area, but I just didn't think they would allow a dog in there.  I saw a couple others taking dogs into Walmart and our local grocery store.  Now here's what gets me.  I just know, for a fact, that if I EVER tried something like that, I'd be the one person they would single out to fuss at.  I'm sure of it. LoL!  Well, luckily I've not desired to take any dogs into these places, but I tell ya, a LOT of people are doing it.  I know there are 'no pet rules' for a reason, but I'd love it if small dogs were welcome everywhere!   I rather enjoyed looking at that cute little yorkie.  She had a wee little bow in her hair!

We were stopped at Walmart here in Hawaii when we wanted to take Paka in. We were also told to leave at Pearlridge Shopping Center but at another mall, he was welcome to enter. At a doctor's office? I don't think so. I never tried. We also take him to Starbucks alot, but we sit outside. You'll be be surprised at how many people bring their dogs there. This is Paka's mode of transportation we we take him out with us.

Pink was the only color they had. People stop us and ask "How old is she?" or "She's so cute." Poor guy.

I have taken my chis to my doctors office but not when I have an appointment for me. My doctor and her staff all have chihuahuas so they always want me to bring mine in for them to see. I have been in the waiting room with them before and all the patients there just love seeing the chis while they are waiting for the doc. I snuck Bella in a puppy bag once in the grocery store. It looked like a purse and no one even noticed she was in there. I didn't buy anything I just brought her for someone I knew to see that worked there.

I definitly am going to get one of those strollers (when I can afford one) cause it is hard juggling two chis around. They don't like getting into there puppy bag.

I think they should allow dogs and ban kids from stores. Kids get too out of control in stores. Dogs would be much better behaved.

Hawaiianpup...I love your babies stroller...too cute.   :)

For anyone that in interested in the stroller, I ordered it online from Target. We don't have any Target stores here in Hawaii.

I felt the same way when they didn't allow Paka to enter Walmart here. I felt very insulted. How dare they call our babies a dog! Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I hate when my babies are called "dogs" too.  Wonder why that is? LOL!  Just sounds... wrong.

We have attempted to take Radar in a Family Dollar store while in his stroller. We were immediately told to leave...but there was no "No Pets" sign. I also tried WalMart and got kicked out right as we came in. I dunno why they get so upset over our little babies when the kids in the stores tear everything up, and disturb all the other shoppers! Here is Radar's stroller...

I haven't ever tried to take Chuwee any place other that at Petsmart or Petco.  Although when hubby got off the plane on Wednesday.  He told me that the lady sitting next to him had her little lasa apso in a bag on the plane with her.  He was like huh? where?  He didn't even notice her until the lady said something.  He pointed her out while we were waiting for his luggage.  She had her little baby in a really nice flight bag. She was so quiet.  Nobody was noticing her until the actually stopped and looked at the bag.  It was quite funny to watch peoples reactions to her.

I can understand why you can't have pets in stores, you really can't just tell people "You can only have small dogs in stores" and if people brought big dogs, IT WOULD BE AWFUL. Poop and pee everywhere! YUCK! But i guess they could say only dogs in bags or strollers that are enclosed so they can't get out. But my cousin lives in Nashville and she has a little Maltiepoo and she always brings him on the plane in a bag, it costs like $80 extra or something. Isn't that cool!!!? I was about to fly to Nebraska with my mom the other week but i wasn't about to leave my baby with Evan bc he isn't as nice as i am ;) with Harley.(he doesn't spoil him enough, cough cough)and i was just gonna take him on the plane, but then i decided I couldn't take off work for that long.
