After over a year of actively looking, I am happy to report, that we have found our baby girl. She is 4 weeks old, and will be coming home in august, all the way from CT to Victoria bc canada! She is a blue merle long coat. one of her eyes may stay blue.

Congrats Beth and WCC! I know how much and how hard you have been looking for your little merle girl, and I can see why you picked this one, she is absoultely gorgeous!! What a stunner, I can't wait to meet her next month!
Thanks, I know alot of people are anti-merle, my stand on it is, if the akc recignizes the color, they actually do great research so I'm good with it. I have been in love with merles from the begining.

we still haven't named hubby's silver LOL Alot of old time breeders don't believe the color is exeptable and want to know where it came from. But.... where did blues or blacks or chocolates come from? the original chis were tan and tall with long heads, every breed has been changed, the chihuahua is one of the least changed breeds. even the golden retriever was created by breeding different breeds together to create "the perfect companion/hunting dog" the "breed standar" for a chihuahua is an apple dome, short and coby, there are still some breeders breeding the "deer type" long legged and long heads but they are not exeptable into show, and are not considered the breed standard even though, that is how the chihuahua started. people are funny.
