So as I said in the picture gallary I purchased my baby girl today and I get to pick her up from the breeder on July 16th. I am soo excited about this. But at the same time I nervous to a certain extent. I feel that a good way of describing it is I feel as though I'm having a child or something. This dog is going to be a huge part of my life for a long long time so this is such a big deal. Just wanted to know if anyone else has ever felt this before they purchased their first Chi? She is going to be soo beautiful im sure. She'll look like a little wolf/siberian huskey, she'll probably have blue eyes and is estimated to weigh about 6lbs as an adult. Im nameing her Ayvee. I keep having thoughts like, "I sure hope I make a good mother" and "I better do everything I can to raise her right". Im sure I'll do fine and I have support from my family and boyfriend and friends. I've done tonsssss of research and I've planned out wat puppy classes Im going to take her to (i've even filled out the registration, I just need to get a few more details), I've picked a vet, and I've bought my puppy supplies. Anyways just wanted to share my feelings with everyone. Im rather excited that I found this forum, I'm gonna be on here lots as the months go by.... I'll keep you all posted...
Congrats to you both! I can completely understand how you are feeling, I have been going through the same thing as you for the last few months!! I have my first chi, a girl named Merrie, that just came home about two and a half weeks ago, and my second, a boy, still unamed, will be home in a few more weeks! I adopted them both from one of the girls on here, Beth of West Coast Chihuahuas. If you have done lots of research, and have lots of support, you will do just fine I am sure. And of course you have everyone here at CC, and I can tell you that these girls are awesome if you have any questions regarding your new baby. She is adorable, keep us posted on new pics!
Well Tashal, I can completely understand what you're talking about! In fact if I think back to the week before I got Ellie (just over a year ago) I still get those butterflies in my stomach! lol Silly huh?!
It sounds as though you're well prepared and have eveything sorted out. I think you'll be just fine! You really sound like you know what you're doing, and hey, if you have any questions (and I'm sure you will!) we're all here for you every step of the way!
