What the Doctoer said

Hi girls!

As most of you will be aware I have been on a new treatment for my M.E. for the past six-ish months.  Last week I had my first meeting with the Doctor who put me onto this new treatment, Sarah Myhill.  Until then we had only corresponded through telephone and email as she lives so far away.  But I managed to get to her last week, which was brilliant!
She told me I was doing superbly on the medication she put me on and that it was great I was managing the saunas but since I am sleeping so much (about 14-16 hours out of 24) she thought I must be allergic/sensitive to something in my diet.  This is probably sugar; I eat a lot of fruit, and it is always the thing you love the most!  Soooo......she has put me back on the cursed diet!  But this time it's not just for six weeks.  I am not allowed dairy, grains (wheat, rye, oats etc.) or sugar.  My diet will consist of meat, fish, vegetables, and nuts and seeds.  No fruit, fruit juice or any other sugar, be it refined or natural.  Ouch!  lol  This will be extremely hard going for the first few weeks I fear.  She has also provided me with hypadermic syringes to inject myself with Magnesium and vitamin B12 once a day.  One of those makes my skin go bright pink (the B12) and doesn't hurt at all, and the other (the Magnesium) stings and creates an inch x inch x inch bump that is painful for 24 hours.  Lovely huh?!  lol  So I will be pink and bumpy in no time!  lol
She wants me to give this six months, give it everything I've got.  So I will.  Just thought you'd all like to know.

Love to you all x

Jess, I know it is going to be difficult for you, but you have done so well in the past that I know you will be able to continue on doing well with this. The needle thing doesn't sound like much fun though..lol I have to admit I don't envy you that part. Just keep reminding yourselft how well you will feel!:)

Hi girls, this is my latest update...

Having been on the new treatment for about 5 weeks I have noticed a HUGE change.  I am not needing so much sleep and am gernerally feeling a lot better.  I believe that B12 can make a difference to energy and as I have been injecting it pretty much every day I'm guessing that's what's done it.  But also the resting is paying off I think.  As for the diet, well to be honest I have broken rather a lot (oops!) so I'm not sure if the sugar and stuff is even out of my system yet!  lol  I really am not convinced I am allergic/sensitive to any food, but for the sake of getting better I will persivere albeit not very strict!  lol

All in all, I am seeing an improvement, and it is INCREDIBLE, truly amazing.  I am confident I will succeed this time and am SO excited about my future!

Just thought I'd share my good news with y'all!  wink.gif  biggrin.gif

x

Jess, I appreciate you sharing your updates and I am soooo pleased to hear that this has made a difference for you. It has been a while since you started the treatment and I am soooo proud of you for sticking with it. A lot of sacrafice has gone into this and it seems to be paying off nicely. I pray for your continued improvement sweetie!!!

I actually knew another girl who needed the same injections, and it made all the difference in the world!  I hope that it helps you also, good luck and let us know how it is going!
